The village currently has 191 homes. Under the newly approved plan, more than 200 new units will be added, nearly doubling the size of the community.
The plan includes 159 standard new housing units plus 50 smaller apartments of up to 55 square meters, designed for temporary housing and young adults returning to the community. Once complete, Hannaton will have 350 regular homes and 50 smaller units.
Beyond housing, the plan also expands the economic base of the village. New areas for tourism, hospitality, commercial space, agriculture, and light industry are all part of the package. A new dormitory building for the Hannaton Study Center is also included.
The planning approach focuses on building within and adjacent to the existing village layout, keeping average density at 4.77 units per dunam. The goal is to grow the community while preserving its rural character and keeping surrounding open land intact.
The plan was initiated by the Jezreel Valley Regional Council together with the Hannaton cooperative, and designed by Gordon Architects.
